SPIRIT Airlines - Key West

Today's KW Newspaper has a front page picture of a Spirit A319 visiting Key West and an article "touting" its ability to carry "twice as many passengers" as other flights. How full of passengers and fuel can an A319 operate on a 4800 ft runway ?

It's the thought ... I mean, spirit .... that counts. ;)

Nice to hear from you, Ftroop, hope you are well.

the 319 performs pretty well; it should be able to make it back to FLL with a full load of pax's.

As long as they don't want to turn KW in a new pilot base;)

EAL, B-727-100s. PI used to fly F-28s.

If they are flying just to FLL then they have an advantage of not having to carry a lot of fuel which would obviously allow them to put more pax on. Now if they were going to DTW that might be a different story.

DTW will need JATO:D
