Hey Guys

I am doing a project for one of my college classes on Boeing Aircraft Company and was trying to find out how much they sell for, for example when an airline buys them direct from the company brand new? I was trying to find the values of the 737, 747, 767, 777, and the BBJ. I have looked on websites but they all say please inquire or make offer. Plus they are all older planes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the saying? If you have to ask you can't afford it....but if you need a little perspective on inflation a new Boeing 727 in late 1964 (when it entered service) cost about $3.5 million dollars. Round about 1987 or so a Boeing 737-300 was going for about $27-29 million dollars. After that I couldn't afford them any longer....

But in 2006 dollars a Boeing BBJ-737-700 was about $58 million. Airlines, like Hertz/Avis I'm sure get some version of "fleet discounts".

I've heard the the average 747-400 goes for about $200 million.

If an airline pays list price for an airline then someone needs to be fired. Competition between Airbus and Boeing is so intense that a good negotiator can get some pretty decent price concessions. This wasn't the case a few years ago. Previous management at Boeing decided to concentrate on profit instead of market share and passed on many deals that did not meet their profit targets. That was a major reason why Airbus was able to pass Boeing in orders. Current management in Chicago and Tukwila are a lot more flexible and have become more aggressive in making a deal.

Price is not the only factor in a deal. Boeing (and probably Airbus) will toss in inducements such as training, spare parts, and trade in value that, while they have nothing to do with the actual price of the airplane, it does reduce the total cost of the deal.
