USAIR interview?

Has anyone gotten anything back from USAir? Not that I expect a quick reply, but if anyone has gotten a email or call, please post!

Thanks

Based on their history of destroying careers why in the blazes would anyone want to work for this POS outfit??!!

Not wanting to lauch another "we hate X" rant, they are a viable airline with international and domestic structure. They seem to be making money and might be in a position to improve thier situation in the future. Sure, if I had my exclusive choice, I might work elsewhere, but until I actually have a choice, it seems logical to cast a fairly wide net. Not sure what you mean by "history of destroying careers". Indy Air died on me, but I don't feel they destroyed my career. This is a rough business, and only a fool would think they will be at employer X 'till they are 60. Honestly, I was in a solid job outside the industry, and I felt no more secure.

I have a strong "maybe" from a company I really like, but until I'm in class I will continue to seek all available options.

Careful with that theory, that's what I did when I was first hired there. Long story, but I almost didn't apply but then couldn't pass up the pay and bennies (retirement in particular) when they offered the job.

Destroying careers may be a little harsh, but if you go there without full qualifications for other positions (for when they furlough you and you're getting older with a full dose of airline stink) it does ring kinda true. Good luck.

True! There are many a pilot who didn't have the TPIC to get a decent job when furloughed last round. If CAL tanks again there will be a lot of those guys lacking that time as well. I'd urge almost anyone to get at least 1000 hours in a 121 left seat first. It's a cheap insurance policy.

" There are many a pilot who didn't have the TPIC to get a decent job when furloughed last round "

You hit my anger point RIGHT ON THE NOSE!!!!

Try getting caught between the "You don't have enough PIC time" and the "You are going back to USAirways soon" rocks. Any other industry VALUES EXPERIENCE!!!!

Yea I remember when I worked for Airtran and and heard all these same words. Now you same guys that put them down would give your left "beep" to work for them. ANd guys thinking they were at the most miserable place are now 737 or 717 Captains making good coin. Remember fellas, in this business things change very quickly. It's like a stock; if you buy it when it's great you'll never make money but when it's on it's can is the best time to invest. Be careful ne day you might just have to eat those words. :D
