Zero AMR recalls in Oct, hardly any for Nov
 

Holy deer in the headlights Batman! The AA pilots Website shows no classes for Oct, only a Nov 17th class that has a bunch of previous deferrals, no seniority number over 9880, so we don't move up at all for almost the rest of the year!?? What's up witt Datt?

Who else still thinks changing age 60 won't affect hiring/recalls???


Just the thought of it passing has American slowing recalls. But hey, if we work an extra 5 years, we may just make the same amount of money as if age 60 had been kept....

Tone.... RELAX bro. There are 2 recall classes in Oct.. Oct 3 (30 pilots) and Oct 17 (20 pilots.) The Nov class will have 40 instead of 50, due to earlier MLOAs coming back. Everyone is presuming they will be back up to 50 by Dec or Jan.

Oh, I was just panicking because I didn't see any Oct classes listed on AApilots website. Also, I was wondering why the Sept class got up into the 10000's in seniority, and now were back into the 9800's. Are there that many previos deferrals that all of a sudden want to come back? Or did they update the seniority #'s? Scary...

Hi Tone, I checked the recall list. Indeed, sounds like they were up to the 10,000s before the July seniority shuffle, now they are back up to 9888 (who was probably a 10200 before the shuffle.) Everyone in the Sep class is in the 9600s.

For those wondering, the bottom guy offered recall in the Oct 17 class so far (seniority 9888) is 927 out of 2819 on the furlough list. So less than 2000 to go! We should get through that whole list by the end of next year.

Statistically: we've gone through 927 pilots in nine months of recalling. And we did that with a slow start: 20 in Jan, 10 in March, 20 in April, 30 in May and June, 40 in Jul, Aug, Sep, and 50 in Oct. We should be through about number 1300 or so by the end of the year. So, if we start with 50/month by Jan 2008, you can see how we'll go through the remaining 1500 in one more year, based on the current deferral rate.

Actually, one more question if anyone knows: When I log in My seniority # is Mid 11000's, but how do I get to see my new number after the shuffle? In other words, how do I know how many numbers have to be recalled after the 9888 to get to me?

All that info is located on the APA website under Furlough Information. Even as a furloughee, you have access as long as you were a member upon furlough.

Also, your seniority number is automatically updated every July. So what you see today is your updated number. Everyone in the bottom third of the list moved up about 400 numbers or so.

Thanks EXTW, I got it. I noticed the changes are already reflected, so although the current recallees have lower numbers, uus with higher numbers stayed the same, so there's 200 guys ahead of me more than I thought. The only thing I couldn't find was what causes the shift? Is it due to retirements? If so, my number should have changed as well?
