Headset question
When at Comair, I used the Telex 750 and I had to turn it up real loud to hear and I missed calls, especially at higher speeds. I have a Lightspeed ANR headset from my GA days and I was wondering if people use Lightspeed at the airlines?

A lot of people use Bose and David Clark, I know of several people who use the Lightspeed Mach 1, I just purchased it myself. I have heard from several sources that the CRJ is a bit quieter than the ERJ. Don't know from my own experience though. I have the Bose (that I have been using for the past year or so as a CFI) but wanted something smaller and easier to haul around an airport.

Didn't know about FedEx, had heard UPS did and one or two regionals.
As for the FAA, there was a thread a while back on either this or another site regarding the FAA position on it. The position was that their headset TSO was simply a guideline for specs headsets should be built to and was in no way a requirement. As with all things, I guess YMMV.
