NEW YORK (AP) -- Airline workers were charged Tuesday with helping drug traffickers smuggle heroin and cocaine through John F. Kennedy International Airport, authorities said.
Authorities say they've arrested 18 people in connection with a drug smuggling ring at JFK airport.

A total of 18 people were charged in the plot, including seven employees at Delta Air Lines and one employee at American Airlines.
Airport workers in the Dominican Republic concealed the drugs in luggage bound for New York, prosecutors said.
A second group of conspirators at JFK then retrieved the packages and diverted them to a safe area before the bags were inspected.

Hey now, we need to keep the focus on flight crews! They are the trouble makers.....

I have always tried to say hello to the ground crews or ask how their day is going when im outside walking around an airplane. Most of them dont answer or just look at you like you are nuts for talking to them.

It isnt all ground crews, but many of them have very low morale.

You would too if you lived in the NY area making $7.50/hr.

That is total BS, and NO excuse for smuggling drugs into NYC on airline flights.

Who would have ever thought that this would have happened.
