Health Insurance cost?
 

I'm curious as to what health insurance cost are at other carriers. How much do you pay on a monthly basis for your coverage?

I've also posted this in the regional section, but family coverage at SkyWest runs $247-$298mo. for HMO or PPO coverage depending on location (2008 cost).

And to add to that.... since CAL has no insurance provided for the first 6 months, does anyone know if the plan they allow you to purchase for those first 6 months is cheaper than some other companies or Cobra? It would save me some homework. Thanks.

Health, vision and dental, no deductible with UHC plan. $65 a month for a family. Kids are free additions.

That is unheard of ....no deductable at all? So when you go to the doctor you walk out the door for free and then if you go to the hospital it is ALL covered at 100%?

Mesaba is about 150 per pay X26 pays per year..... Family plan with dental and $20 co-pay at doctor...$500 family deductable. We have cheaper plans but they are HMO's...some like them some do not.

There is a copay, but healthcare still a huge benefit at SWA. Used to be the industry norm everywhere probably, but not anymore.

2008 plan for me will be family health $62.50/mo. with NO deductible. Other options with less monthly premium and a deductible are available.

Copays are $20 regular, $30 specialist and $100 ER

Dental is $21.50/mo for familly. two preventive care visits per year 100% covered. Other treatment 80% covered after $50/person annual deductible.

At USAir I now pay $400/month for health care and another $150 for LTD. Use to be $40/month for health and nothing for LTD. Not whining just putting out info.

UAL HMO is $0/month. $26 for Dental. Medical PPO is about $200/month.

Most HMO copays are around $20. FSA is available. Benefits begin at day 1.

Do any Continental folks have any advice on what to do that first 6 months regarding health insurance (with a family)? COBRA, Tricare Reserve Select, or use what Continental makes available?

I looked into Cobra, but naturally it was quite expensive. I did not review the plan the company offered but went to Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and will be paying $40/month with great coverage, a $250 deductible, and a $1 million max.
