US Airways (East) vs. ALPA
 

What's the latest in the East battle with ALPA? I had heard the was going to be a vote to decertify ALPA.

The WEST collected cards a few years ago ... didn't happen :confused:

Was told that ALPA is being brought up on money laundering charges in NY. If this is true it is just one more reason to give them the boot.

If you can't bring up a money laundering charge in a NY court, you shouldn't even be driving a taxi ... or practicing law ?

P.S. ... the decision to give ALPA the boot is ultimately a PERSONAL decision that very few will get to make ... think about that ! :eek:

I guess a lot of you Cactus guys hope they don't. I'm just asking where it stands at this point. If you don't know why, even post a response?

What are the implications of US Airways breaking away from ALPA? Will it affect other ALPA airlines?

You are starting to see the beginning of a new era where the union will no longer control an airline. Colgan voted for no ALPA, Skywest will most likely vote for no APLA, and now US Airways will most likely decertify APLA. It is the wave of the future. (no Hughes pun intended.)

Because I have a 15 year ALPA pin in the bottom of my sock drawer (not that it means much anymore). I was in the MEC as an FO rep and later a Capt rep ... I know ALPA's recent history (1989-2007).

I said leaving ALPA is ULTIMATELY a PERSONAL CHOICE. Because I saw a numerous recalls fail at Cactus ... saw the decertification drive fail there also !

If you think the East can get it done ... good on you. Hope you have a better plan than the Teamsters ...

If you think it will nulify the Nic awarded list ... you better study up on your arbitrated history awards ...

Just wishing BOTH side the best .... its much better on the sidelines & grandstands in this one !

I fail to see your you point. It was Colgan first ALPA vote, the first vote often fails. Skywest I have no idea. Even if US Airways (east) dumps ALPA the will still be represented by a union, most likely an in house.

I'm not really taking sides pro or con, I was just asking where everything stood at the moment.
