Default Labor at SWA

I will be interviewing with SWA. I heard the VP in labor suddenly departed and no replacement is there yet. Are there problems brewing?

What are the flight benefits for unmarried pilots?

TIA.

You get to enjoy ‘smorgasboard’ . . .AND . . .

You don’t have to go right home after a trip . . you can go to Tahoe, or Park City . .or the Swiss Alps . .. no “checking in” while on the road, either.

Married guys don’t get those perks.

Great . . . if my girlfriend isn't along for the ride! Are benefits available for opposite sex companions, or just same sex partners?

Also, any statements about why the VP in labor left so suddenly and without a replacement? Just thought it was strange and wondered if that meant there were some problems between management and the unions.

Thanks.

Yes, we have both male and female flight attandents. Freedon to choose your benefits sex.

Well, it was a little strange when Jim Parker left suddenly too. But of course he was replaced with Gary Kelly. Gary is exciting and I have never met anyone yet who doesn't have faith in this guy. At SWA we fill in our management positions with internal people. It keeps the culture which Dallas feels is important. (By the way we have people leave all the time, some transfer to different departments some leave. It is not all bad)

The only labor issues could be our section 6 (pilots) that is coming up but in reality that is a non issue. We are working with the company to find ways to be productive and come up with compensation that is fair.

So not to worry.
