Is LUV looking for a RJ partner?
To quote somthing I read in the "Regional" forum:
The aircraft and the number I have heard (from a high source) is both amazing and unbelievable. However, call me crazy but I believe it. He told me about the DEN bro base closing 2 weeks before the rumors even started. I didn't want to believe him then.
Southwest
100 aircraft
aircraft type E190
1000 more pilots will be needed
I was told 60-90 days untill anouncment

It brings to mind some charter companies back in the day that attempted to branch out into the scheduled service arena and didn't fare so well; different game but just seemed relavent. Not saying it couldn't work, just a thought, that's all.

I've heard SW has slowed its delivery schedule down for new 73's. That could be an indicator either way, though. Either they see a slowdown and less demand, or they see the need to introduce smaller aircraft into new markets. This could get interesting if there's any truth to this rumor.

the e190 is not an rj and it it seats 107 pax there are no regionals nor there will be ( hopefully) flying them.
no way in hell SWA pilots and even their management would allow to outsource their business to a dump operation like all regional airlines are. I snot just about scope, is about protecting your business, and letting regionals fly your routes is a sure way to kill your business.
And while we are at it, lets start the rumor: SWA will buy JB for the 190 options an their east coast presence, they will sell the 320's on the secondary market overseas, which would be easy to do since JB leases are set on dollars, so European Operators can snatch those up with payments of more than 25% less due to the strong euro.

Wow, all regionals are dump ops, huh? That's peachy, AWAC, huge dump of an operation, Horizon, the king of dumps right? ExpressJet, not worth the paper to wipe with huh? Get off you high horse. I hate it when people crap all over someone’s work place. I’m not saying that I want to be at these places for ever, heck, I look up to SWA, but no need to crap all over where I work.

You 'snot just about scope'? Wow, you're a clever sort, aren't you.
You're right, all regionals are dumps. We should be flying 747s into Gillette, WY and Yakima, WA, right?
I'm guessing that everybody besides you is a crappy pilot, too, right?
