New USAir

Back when they announced the merger they also mentioned reducing the combined fleet by 100 planes or so. That action should result in 1200 lay offs, but there hasn't been any noise about it. Anyone have any information to share?

That's right. AWA is short on crews so we may be recalling some USAir guys this spring. The reductions in fleet came from USAir in BK because GECAS wanted to reduce their exposure to the new airline. AWA lost about 12 but we are taking delivery of 6 new Airbus'.

Maybe on the Captain side Mike, but we're pretty fat over on the FO side, us reserves haven't been used that much. So far I have 35 hours for Dec.
