Default To jump ship to CAL from a CH11 Legacy Carrier

Does anyone know what the CAL interview is like? Where are the profiles flown and what sim do they use? What questions are asked? Thanks for the feed back. Also, would anyone like to comment whether an 8.5 yr FO at a CH 11 legacy carrier should jump to CAL. I happen to live at a CAL base and currently have to commute to my base. It seems like CAL's future is brighter than any other carrier out there.

You'd be nuts. It would be a gamble. I assume you are Delta? What if you jumped and then Cal merged with your old company?

Okay,
I live at IAH and just got tired of commuting. Also, I feel I should go just for the pension alone. I understand that CAL's pensions will be fully funded in two yrs.

Do you think CAL will suffer the NWA demise? I am worried that if I jump ship, they may buy us out and I would have really messed up. Who knows.

Maybe you should at leat try to get an interview with CAL and make a decision after you get hired. With pilots on furlough at NW you may be able to take a leave of absence.

NWA won't allow leaves to fly for another company. This has already been attempted and declined. Plus it is a violation and a terminable offense via FOM.
Thanks for the idea though.

Default Questions for CAL CA's

If any CAL CA's out there have the time I would like to know if it is likely to be hired at CAL with only the bare mins. on turbine time that is 1000 turbine pic and 3000 TT. This time was in a very small turbo prop (King Air). Just wondering because I recently sent an application and wondering if a call should even be expected. Thanks for any help.
