Independence Furloughs Flight Crews in Preparation for Possible Closure
Letters were sent on the 23rd and received today by flight and cabin crews. Furloughed effective January 7th, 2006. ALL employees that are still active on the seniority list are being furloughed.
The company retained the right to cancel the furlough prior to the 7th, pending the outcome of the bankruptcy auction. Bummer of a Christmas present. A heartfelt sorry to all of my former coworkers in this time of struggle. |
A bunch of people loosing their jobs is never a godo thing to hear. Hope you guys and gals at Indy rebound and find somewhere stable quickly.

Sorry to hear about the new year at ACA. There were many dedicated people working at ACA when I was there. Wasn't Kerry Skeen at the helm when PanAm went down?

Thanks, I thought there was a connection.

Hopefully, either UAL or Mesa will purchase IndependenceAir assets, and keep the airline and its employees working at UnitedExpress. They should'nt have left their niche. Dispose of A319s, keep their CRJ-200s and some airline will use them as code-share.

I wish the employees the best although I don't think UAL is going to be interested in that path, maybe Mesa? |

That's Ed "Carpet Bagger" Acker. I still remember his statement when asked why he left Air Florida to take the helm at Pan Am, "...the only job that posed a bigger chalenge was Captain of the Titanic, and that job wasn't available." What a POS. |

Appears that it's officially over January 5th. What a shame. And a waste.
