Virgin America Hiring Mins

I see that the Total time requirement to get hired is 7000. I have heard of people getting on with much less. My question is, is that 7000 set in stone or does it vary with applicant?
Any info would be great

OK...that didn't work out so well. They're saying the mins are now 5000 total hours, with 1000 PIC in turbine aircraft. It seems a little high compared to other airlines.

Thanks...I tried pasting that into an earlier post, but only the first bullet survived.
