US Air & America West = good merger?

Who is this clown anyway? He is ranting from his kitchen in front of an old stove. Rememeber what Warren Buffet said about these Wall Street clowns, "Wall Street is the only place people drive to in a Rolls Royce to take advice from someone that rides the subway to work."

Yeah, US Airways and AWA was one of two "good" mergers since the deregulation? Wow, what an expert!

That is exactly why I don't live on the East Coast.
Honestly though, was that guy slightly retarded? I mean, no joke, not funny retarded, but actually handicapped. |

Never had good dealings with anyone with a last name Fuchs.
To each his own, but I think this opinionated work is about as useful as roasted phlemn. FF |

OK, I can't help myself- has there ever been a good merger? Or even a mediocre one?
|
I had a pretty good one between at Allegheny. Suburban Airlines and Pennsylvania Airlines.
Even with the staple job, I think the Morris Air / SWA was pretty benign. I have heard, but it's only hearsay that Delta/Western was a good merger. The Ozark pilots would probably disagree, but TWA merged with them and gave them DOH and very limited, but incrementally increasing access to TWA's widebody slots and Int'l flying. Ozark's largest jet(s) was the MD80/727. TWA's was the 747/L1011/767. But in general, most mergers are the big eating the small...and managment laughing all the way to the negotiating table after watching their "divide and conquer" strategy being administered by the actual labor groups.
