I would wait till an officail report.... Whenever anything happens to AC the news assumes the worst. The AC airbus that had to divert to calgary last month was initialy getting reported as the Evil computer took over the plane and tried to kill everyone, then they started saying that oh no evil USAF stealth aircraft were the cause of this "horrific near death experiance" :rolleyes:

Watch I bet the pilot just had some kind of medical issue and a few retarded uneducated passengers started these romours of a crazy pilot who had to be tied up and shipped off to the mental ward

I hope that you're right. Mental illness is very sad, very difficult to understand, more difficult to live with. I have a very deep respect for it, those affected by it, those family members and friends that have a loved one who has a mental illness. No fun. I wish it on no man.

We had a pilot in my old squadron who was medically retired for some sort of "psychotic episode." Completely awesome guy, great pilot, no history of anything until one random day he got some insanely bad headaches and migraine type symptoms. Next thing you know, they give him an anti-psychotic drug that permanently DNIF'd him. He's doing fine now, but no longer flying. And it appears that his one-time episode may have been a reaction to one of our immunizations.

Hopefully everything turns out OK with the AC incident. Just like anything else in the aviation industry, rule #1 is to sit back and gather facts before jumping to conclusions.

There was a thread on the "Regionals" board about a Mesa pilot that committed suicide. Both incidents are sad.

I'm not sure if the common ground between the two incidents is their pilot employment. Hopefully, these tragedies will raise the awareness of the challenges of our professional and encourage those with troubles to seek help.

No reason to jump to conclusions, maybe he was suffering a seizure, and the knuckleheads in the main cabin interpreted it as a mental condition. I very well could be wrong, but like others said, wait for the full report.

It amazes me that we see [recognizable] inaccuracies and biases in the media almost daily, yet still jump on the bandwagon and kick one of our own when he's down.

Here's to a speedy recovery for the pilot involved - regardless of the cause.
