AirTran and the pilot nogotiations
When will AirTran reach an agreement with their pilots? According to http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/a...2005030141.htm (under the quick take, it says they “AirTran and the National Pilots Association are in NMB-mediated negotiations. “ Does any one know what they negotiating? New pay, hours, retirement?

according to a friend who works there management wants a 12% increase in productivity. either a 12% pay cut or change in work rules. this is to keep the competitive advantage they had over the other airlines until they all took cuts.

We have been in section 6 negotiations for over a year and no progress has been made. The pilot group wants modest gains in pay, retirement contribution and work rules.
Management first demanded concessions and have since rescinded that request. They now insist that they can not increase pilot costs, they're looking for a contract extension, even though they gave out a total of $8,300,000 in executive bonuses last year ('05).
We're under federal mediation right now, talks are scheduled for next week in Washington DC.
