If it makes you feel better (although it probably won't) we had a guy in my Jan 7th class with the same background. It will come - be patient.

Good Luck
Welcome to my world!! Same situation..... Lots of quality time, clean resume, low PIC due to a previous furlough and having to start over at a regional carrier.

No calls from anyone.....

Thank you for the intel and kind words of encouragement.

However, I did not wait around for DL to give me an interview....I am now with a legacy who appreciated my exprience level and dedication. DL lost a loyal, dependable and knowledgable pilot who represented DL for almost 17 years in almost every capacity. It's their loss over just a few lousy hours in my log book, but then again were just a number!

PS....the guy ur talking about is one of my best friends from DL...I am very happy for him!

Good luck. IMHO we should not leave an internal on the street.
I took the severance package in 02 to go work for ASA with the hope of returning once DL started Hiring.....With all the outsourcing of DL regional flying, loss of a/c and contract talks for 5 years, my senority group was ground zero for reserve for 2 years as F/O, lack of available flying and upgrades. One of my best buddies left DL (he went to XJet) 1 1/2 yrs after I left and upgraged 1 1/2 years earlier than I did. Senority is everything.

I pulled every string that I could being I worked in Flight Ops including BB, Flt ops Mgr, ATL Base CP, APD, Line check airman, and many others! (did I mention I was one of the "test" pilots on the CANPA proceedures for the MD88)....Jon S...said 4000tt and 1400 pic wasnt enough with no 121 PIC....told me get my crj type and I get my interview....He was gone 6 weeks later....Cap. K told me get 500 121 PIC and I have the interview....Took me until this past JUL to hold CAPT. Earliest I would have 500 pic would of been in April or May 08 (I left the end of DEC with 200 121 pic)....I had 1 other Major and 1 LCC interview me, offered the job and accepted one....even emailed Cap K offering to by pass if they would interview me and make job contingent upon 500 pic...He said "best propostion he has ever seen" but said no....Many of my DL friends are back there and some did not have 121 pic. I am broken hearted that I spent so many good years being a part of the "Delta Family" but was never given the opportunity to even interview. This is a HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT in my life! Your right one of their own should of atl least been given the opportunity especially with so many people wanting me back on property.

Thank you for the encouragement and support!

Actually, I really don't want the merger to happen now....I am very HAPPY with coming to NW. It really is a great place to be!

Especially with the senority, growth and great pilot group!

Miller time who are you?

capoetc,

Noticed you recently retired - first, thanks for your service!

How much flying did you get done in the last year? DAL wants at least 100 hours in that timeframe. The other question could be your app itself.

If you recently applied through airlineapps.com or the app has some errors in it, you may not pop to the surface of the stack quickly.

Dragon -

Thanks for the props!

My "hours in the last 12 months" is dwindling now -- as of today, I have 60 hours in the past year (not including mil conversion, which won't bring it up to 100). I have 3,400 TT, 1150 PIC (again not including mil conversion) -- it's all ME turbine except 300 hours turboprop. Almost all of it is overseas as well.

But, if the 100 hours rule is hard and fast, then I might as well look elsewhere.

FWIW,

I met some DAL recruiters end of last year and I was told by one of them, "if your 1st Class medical is out of date for 1st Class privileges, then we don't even see you!" So basically if you want them to even think of pulling your app, those of you who are not 121 pilots already getting a 1st class med every 6 months, you need to be for consideration!?...
