Default Mesa Sues

waaanh.....Mesa's stock is so low, DAL should just buy the company and shut them down. Market cap $35M @1.29/share. This is fun to watch.

Mesa Air Group Says It Sues Delta Air Lines Over Contract Dispute

PHOENIX (AP) -- Mesa Air Group Inc. says it has filed a federal lawsuit against Delta Air Lines Inc. to keep its contract-flying agreement intact.
Mesa General Counsel Brian Gillman says the lawsuit was filed Monday in response to Delta's announcement last week that it plans to end the contract.

Delta has noted that Mesa's performance was lacking. The Atlanta-based carrier has said it had a problem with the number of flights Mesa completed.

But Gillman says that there's nothing wrong with the regional carrier's performance.

Instead, Mesa contends that Delta is trying to end the contract in an effort to cut flights and boost profits.

Everytime I flew in/out of MCO they were never ontime, honestly dont know how they have lasted this long. What I would give to see Jonathan Ornstein curled up in the fetal position, crying!

Never get into a fight with someone who has nothing to lose.

For Mesa to sue Delta may not be a bad plan.

If DAL is pretty much done with Mesa anyway(and I think they are), Mesa has almost nothing to lose, they can park the jets and furlough the crews, then if they win, they will probably get paid as if they flew all the cancelled flights (or some magical formula for it) meanwhile expenses go waaaay down and today's staffing problem is solved, if they lose, they will likely lose the rest of the DAL branded flying (which is gonna get cancelled anyway)

Just my two cents worth

I think Delta is going to yank the CRJ900 flying from Mesa now that they are suing. If I was Delta, I would not want to be doing business with someone who is suing me. It’s not good business and does not make any sense.

So what about Skywest? They are suing DAL over IROP pay. Take the Skywest flying and dish it out to Comair?

It'd be nice to see United do the same with Mesa's contract.
