Another VA interview question....
Simple question (I hope); If a person is fortunate enough to interview with VA (I have heard interviews are the middle of the week), how and when does VA normally respond to the applicant? By email or phone? Within a few weeks?
Thanks in advance. Skipper p.s. Any chance of serious replys, instead of the usual carnage? |
Wednesdays for pilots. By email usually. Bad news travels fast, good news can travel fast or wait in maddening limbo for several weeks or more. So, no news is good news. Hope that helps.....

So, bad news would be via email that same week, or good news via email a little later? Thanks in advance... Skipper |

i heard they were getting 17 planes in july alone, any truth in that...
|
17 is way higher than the number I heard. Let's just say we aren't parking planes and the hiring & upgrades continue.
Sorry, I'm not going to discuss any inside info here. |
hiring with what type of times, i heard you have a lot of North Carolina commuters...i live 10 minutes from sfo

If you know someone here seems like about 5,000 hours. If you don't then 7,000 or bus time. I have 6k with bus time but the other guys in my class have well over 10k

Hi "IFlyEm",
Do you know if it is fairly typical, if that during the 2/1 interview, that there is not much "feedback" to the answers given by the applicant? In other words, question asked, question answered, next question asked with no follow-up to the previous answer. I am not quite sure what to make of it (if anything)... Skipper |
They have standard questions so there is little variance in how the questions are asked or what questions are asked. If they want clarification on one of your answers they will dig deeper. I really wouldn't make anything of it. When did you interview?
|
Is there PM available on this board?
|
When did you interview? IFlyEm, I was with most recent group (I think). By the way.... The whole experience was professional and courteous. If the airline (and I am sure it does) treats it's employees the way it treats prospective employees, I am sure it is a great place to work. I just had difficulty getting a feel for th 2/1 interview part.... Skipper |
I was rejected 1 day prior to two weeks (along with the other SX guy in my interview group).. of the 13 interviewed, 7 were hired.. The first one got a yes on day 3 and the last one of the 7 got his yes on day 9.. the rejects all went out on day 13 I believe.. there is no rhyme or reason, and I'm sad they didn't seem to find me a fit, as I thought I'd do well there, and so did the other guy I interviewed with from SX.. there is a rumor (theory) that they're not really interested in former SX pilots and I was personally told by our former CP that he thinks their lack of out reach to us (compared to many other airlines that were doing so when we failed) was to say the least odd.. Bad blood maybe, I don't know. Bottom line is I wasn't hired with about 5000TT and the other SX guy with 10000+ and APD on the CRJ/ 757, GIV, A320 and other experience wasn't hired.. they mainly took MESA, EAGLE and AIR WIS CRJ types..
Wish them all the best. |
Is Joe Houghton still the Chief Pilot there or am I horribly out of touch? He's a friend from a previous life.
