Cascade never flew 402's and Horizon bought Cascade out before they "went out of business".

Moses Lake has seen Horizon service in the past. Big Sky was there as well. With the EAS contract dropped, it seems that there was no one who wanted to fly there. QX still serves Wenatchee and Yakima.
I use to fly into Moses Lake when I was working for Horizon Air. There was only a handful of people who would board the flight. I remember a few occasions when we would land and then depart MWH with an empty plane.

Are you sure about Cascade Airways? If they didn't fly 402's then what did they fly. It was a small Cessna of some kind. I was just a small kid when all that happened, but I remember my dad going on business trips and using them. In any case I am sure you would agree that it was Horizon Air that put Cascade out of business.

QX still does serve YKM and EAT however they have cut the number of flights since the 400 came along. The Q-400 is just too big to adequately serve the smaller markets.

You didn't mention Pullman or Walla Walla. Does QX still go there? I can't imagine the 400 flying into Pullman.

Remember the Magic: The Story of Horizon Air
Chapter entitled: Competitor Cascade, page181

"Horizon had supported Cascade with around one million dollars in cash to sustain its operation during the talks. But, as negotiations ultimately broke down, the proposed acquisition ultimately foundered. By then, Cascade was beyond rescue and Horizon walked."

Horizon flys to Walla Walla three times a day in Q200s, and to Pullman three times a day in Q400s as part of a triangle route with Lewiston, ID.

Angry

This "Alaska Express" Moses Lake business is a sham. Management wants scope restrictions relaxed so they can serve small "farm towns' and Moses Lake. B.S! They are trying to get scope relief and are using this non-threatening location as the vessel to do it. If they get their way, I will guarantee they will expand this "Express" service to Spokane, Yakima, Boise, Portland and all over and put our pilots out of work. This action will save the airline more money and make Bill look like a hero to his ethic-less peers. We at Alaska see this shameless ploy and will not allow it to go unchallenged. Once the camel gets his nose in the tent then we are hosed. Our management really sucks. Kind of sad in a way when we see what the SWA pilots did for Herb on his way out. Why can't it be that way everywhere? Why do we have greedy liars running great companies into the ground? Herb made tons of money for everyone and it seems everyone is happy. Its not hard if you can overcome the greed aspect and Bill Ayers and Co. cannot seem to bring themselves to do it.

They announced in ground school: one rj gone in september and one in October. Also, a Nascar team just bought 2 of the 200's. There will be furloughs and if another company comes in and does the Express, things will get ugly.

Personlly, I am looking at other options career wise. I give myself until Christmas, that is unless I am lucky.

Performance of what? The aircraft or airport?

Unless I am misreading your post, I'm referring to the ARFF capability of the airport. Not the performance capability of the aircraft serving it.

Furloughs you say? If history repeats itself Alaska Air Group will wait until Christmas Eve to have the furlough notices delivered.
