Quit Complaining!

I, as well as most of my friends, am sick and tired of hearing how bad you airline pilots have it! Shut up already! You are overpaid bus drivers whose pay is being properly realigned with the skills required to perform the duties. The pay you whiners are receiving, $177/hr for a 747-4, or $137/hr for an A-320 is ridiculous. If your case is so compelling, why did the pilots that were giving "Information" to passengers at MSP go ballistic when I gave those same passengers the NW pay-scale?

Remember, these are the same pilots that put their pompous noses up in the air when talking about us corporate drivers. To the pilots...it's not your airline; you merely work for the MANAGEMENT! They are entitled to the lion's share because they are the ones who created and grew the company. Tell you what, why don't all of you airline pilots pool your money, and create your own airline? See just how far you get.

Who let their kid use the computer unsupervised?

I hope no one falls for this. I`m thinking it isn`t worthy of any comments.

Hey, I am assuming you work for JB, I am flying the E 190 from BOS to PBI and back on May 3 coming back on the 10th. I was hoping to get a look up front. Are JB pilots willing to let a few folks up front prior to pushback or after landing if you explain who you are and show an airport badge? Just curious.

Obviously a ill informed Pilot who obviuously has No Clue and has a major chip on his shoulder!......... or he is a management stooge pretending to be a pilot.

In either case, it is just better to ignore him than to stoop to his level.

Ignore him an he will go away!

I think it's Dougie's 8 year old son in disguise because no one can be that ignorant!

See, when you get hit squarely in the mid-section, there's nothing you can do about it. Telling people not to reply...very childish. As I stated in my original post, you guys are overpaid bus drivers.

Tell you what, if your case is so strong, why not have the Nation's newspapers print all of the pay scales for all of the airlines. How much sympathy would you guys get then? Not much! Just like when the NWA mechanics went on strike...once the pay scales were made public, the daily pandering by the papers stopped.

The problem is that you guys have no leg to stand on; you hide behind a union. Why should a bus driver make $175/hr?

As I said before, go out and start your own airline.

What the hell is going on this web site? Looking two months ago this place was so friendly. Now the pilots are doing nothing but putting one another down. The whole thing about getting paid is getting on my nerves. There are not many jobs out there where two single people can control 50-400 lives. Personally when I am flying I feel good inside that the pilot is well trained, and happy being there, and I do believe that he or she should be getting paid top dollar. When I walk by the cockpit I always look inside and see if the captain has little grey in his hair (nothing against the young captains).

Without pilots the airlines will not make money, it’s a fact. It is easy to find a person to give out drinks, or load bags on the airplane, but flying is a different story.

It’s sad to see pilots give away the money they worked so hard for. All the high paying pilots did their dues, and now they are sacrificing their life style again.

Hi Edik,

I think you'll find this forum is the friendly place to ask genuine questions and receive genuine responses that you remember. Just look at the restraint and maturity demonstrated in this thread when a users first post is inflammatory, unfounded, and quite frankly, just doesn't make any sense.

As you start your aviation career, remember that:
  • Pilots rarely win any love from the public unless the airplane they are on is experiencing an emergency.
  • Unions do better work at the negotiating table, not in public opinion polls.
  • There will always be an anonymous coward that doesn't understand the job taking pot shots from the bleachers.

This forum is no different than "real life", if give respect you'll get respect but at the end of the day you might agree to disagree.

The reason the public gets upset over the pay scales is because they think we work 40 hours a week at 150 per hour. They don't realize that if you can see a pilot he is not getting payed! Don't get payed for preflight, walk arounds, 3 hour productivity sits etc........

Corporate Pilot:

I doubt you're a pilot at all. If you can answer the following basic aeronautical questions and prove to us you're a pilot we'll engage your argument. You'll really make me look like a fool if you answer correctly but I'm willing to risk it! Fair enough? OK, here goes:

1) On which JEPP page is the RNO LOC DME (BACK CRS) Rwy 34L?
2) What are the CAT C mins on the approach?
3) How would you tune the CDI on your HSI to fly this approach?

Good luck. Respectfully,

S.B.

If you reaaly are a Corporate Pilot..........using your logic..........I guess that would make you are an overpaid "Taxi" or "Rick-shaw" driver!

I have a suggestion for our "friend" CorporatePilot.

Why don't you go to an AMA (American Medical Assoc) website forum (similar to this one) and call those Greedy Doctors...........a bunch of overpaid "Butchers"
