Because this isn't a concessionary contract being negotiated. Our work rules change one step backwards and it will be voted down.

Of course we are all concerned about the long term viability of our current position. From the banter that I as well as a few others on here are hearing, there is going to be continued growth and hiring. I am skeptical as well as many of you, but absent of any info to the contrary, currently we are bucking the industry trend. Lets keep it that way.
Here is to some good news out of the negotiation teams!

As a CZ new-hire, I hope you are all right and there are no furloughs for anyone. I want a job and a (possible, but not likely) flowthrough.

what makes delta staff their airplanes with more pilots than nwa?

I know your holding out for delta rules which means 400 more pilots (as stated on these boards) but what happens if you are closer to nwa rules wouldn't that mean delta could be over staffed rather than nwa understaffed?
Well, if that were to happen, it would be via a new JPWA whose staffing formula would be applicable to the "New Delta". At that point there would be no more NWA and "old" DAL.

Also, as someone else stated, IMO, any move backwards would be immediately voted down.

As far as why DAL staffs their planes heavier, it's just a negotiated contract item as far as I know. We do staff the over 12 hour stuff with 2 CA's and 2 FO's, wheras NWA does it with 1 CA and 3 FO's. That really doesn't change the total number of people you need, but it doubles the high dollar jobs on the NWA side for the long haul stuff.

.
If the merger is completed by say December, would the companies then run as one or would we see 2 companies under the same name as in UsAirways until the SLI is completed? If it is 2 operations prior to SLI would NWA still furlough while DAL hires?
