As far as why DAL staffs their planes heavier, it's just a negotiated contract item as far as I know. We do staff the over 12 hour stuff with 2 CA's and 2 FO's, wheras NWA does it with 1 CA and 3 FO's. That really doesn't change the total number of people you need, but it doubles the high dollar jobs on the NWA side for the long haul stuff.[/QUOTE]

I think another difference is the NWA guys fly more (mins 80 to 88 hours) then the Delta guys (mins 70 to 75 hours??), therefore if the delta staffing formula comes with the "new delta" then there will be less of a need to cut jobs and more of a need to hire...

Keep in mind that according to the joint MEC letter, the stated starting point for the JPWA is the DL contract, including LOA 19 and selected areas of the NW contract. No concessions for this one, not if management is serious about getting this done and reaping the benefits of the merger.

Thanks

It's what they can hold. Widebody F/0 goes very senior. I have 11.5 yrs and would be 3rd from the bottom on the -400, on reserve. If i had bid the -400 last month, would probably be displaced in the Nov award.

We need to get the Delta work rules in effect as quickly as possible.
Get the JPWA and seniority list done now!

NO FURLOUGHS!

Exactly, widebody fo is a cushy job, and therefore very senior. Most of the junion DC9 CAs can't hold any better than 757 FO.

If a DAL guy had written that fact about NWA in reference to the SLI, he'd be skinned alive.
