Default Nwa Disp

The new APA came out, did anyone notice the high amount of DISP to ANC SO. I thought they were trying to grow MSP SO. 70 SO RSV in ANC? Is this just waiting pool until they decide to make cuts?

I heard from a friend over there that NWA is parking 33 DC-9's, 10 757's, and like 3 747F's. But I haven't seen anything "offical". So if true, I guess it would mean alot of movement from base to base and maybe some furloughs.

The 9's were already announced a while back. Now they are adding 14 additional a/c some 757's and some a320's...not sure of breakdown and 3 freighters...all not good news......

Those moves are surely a holding position until whether NWA is awarded DAL work rules or not; if not then those moves clearly indicate initial furloughs. Keep in mind that they can furlough from the bottom of the 9 and 320 as well.

it was a trickle down effect. The displaced 9 captains that have been displaced took mostly bus and 757 FO slots thus making the adjustments. The good thing is that they stopped hiring and supposedly already planned for most of the reductions. Remember a surplus of first year FO's is cheaper to keep around than furloughing people back to compass or mesaba. Any furloughs would be short term because of the soon to be new DAL staffing and work rules as well as the new planes coming on both sides. We shall see.

Also there are currently 120+ "gummers" flying past 60 right now probably waiting to see about the equity. If those guys would have punched out then this wouldnt have happened. Hopefully once the merger goes through these guys will get their money and retire. If there ends up being furloughs it will be predominantly because of these guys who have nothing better to do then fly till they die . Fingers crossed they will get their money and run

SP92, I don't want to burst your bubble, but "DAL staffing and work rules" will have to be negotiated--they are no longer a given like they were in the pre-announcement proposal.

do you think that the new delta staffing could be closer to nwa rules rather than deltas?

what makes delta staff their airplanes with more pilots than nwa?

I know your holding out for delta rules which means 400 more pilots (as stated on these boards) but what happens if you are closer to nwa rules wouldn't that mean delta could be over staffed rather than nwa understaffed?

Could be who knows, but both MEC's and the company have led to the dal staffing model. Hence why DAL is saying they are going to hire in the fall. Also even if it was NWA rules the new planes that are coming will offset any aircraft retirements. I am just going by what we are being told and are seeing. We'll see. If you guys have a crystal ball then by all means go buy a lotto ticket and get out of this stupid industry
