allegiant is charging $69 (four days before booking) each way from IWA to FAR and they still manage to make a profit with good old MD80s.

btw we all know what SWA is trying to do in DEN!!!

This isn't a day care play ground where the monitors make sure everyone plays fair and has equal access to all toys. There are no monitors to take toys away from those that have them and hand them to those without.

That would be socialistic...

It doesn't hurt the industry as a whole. It forces competition which is good for the consumers. It forces bloated carriers to wise-up and realize they can't gouge that community.

Phoenix,

Swa knows how to run a business and actually make money. If other companies go out you really couldnt blame Swa. Its a free market and those who know how to control costs and provide the right service are going to thrive. Sorry but that is the cold hard truth about the business of aviation.
