Tough talk doesn't change reality: Big losses mean further cuts.

Iahflyr,
You can call me out all you like. No where in my post did I mention that a merger is a bad thing. In fact, I actually welcome it if it gives me a chance to work for a leader that wants to build an airline and allows the companies the ability to gain control of control of ticket prices. The point of my post is that Tilton has obviously proven himself unable to walk and chew gum at the same time, and it's ludicrous to lay the blame of United's poor financial results today on the pilots actions the occurred 8 years ago. Are you disputing this? |
I do not follow the inner workings of United, but is the source problem is that managment has broken the infrastructure of the business plan, and perhaps it is beyond repair. For lack of a better expression, a reboot if you will just like when the emb 145 starts *****ing at you for no reason. There is nothing you can do to fix it but shut it off and try again.
Just a quick dumb question from a regional pilot. My fish bowl is pretty cloudy with how our managment is working us over. |

Southwest does this well, although it's not rocket science. It makes one wonder why any management would treat employees as a liability rather than an asset. |

At United we have a great route structure, good equipment, good hubs, and some really great folks. I really think all we are missing is some good leadership. That could change with one new guy doing a little housecleaning. P.S. It's not a dumb question at all. We will all see how this turns out - fasten seat belt sign is clearly "on". |
