Didn't they just furlough. Like in the past month or so? Now they will have recalls soon?

Who's runnin' that show?

Although if they do recall, good on you guys that get the call.

I believe it would be the 3rd time in their history that the furlough has only been for 2-4 months. It was just the cool thing to do at the time.

Jeez. Doesn't make it right though.

What with guys gettin' jobs and quittin' jobs, just to be called back, maybe?

Bored, where are you in this mess?

Long term planning: starts Monday and takes it through Friday.
Short term: what are we doing for lunch... Hooters again?

LOL. Is that not the truth?

I will take the recall but not until the last call. So I guess that makes 1:9.

Still I don't see how they will hire in February. 125 furloughs. I bet many will not want to come back but if the recall happens in a short time, where will they go in the next few months? I know some who will go abroad but most will just come back, then leave later whenever domestic hiring will pick up again.

As it is now, if they don't get rid of more flying they are short by at least 30-40. So a recall of 30-40 in say November will probably burn through 50-60 numbers before they will fill the class. I have yet to talk to anyone senior to me who is willing to go to SJU on reserve. At the moment I can make the same money or more as a CFI compared to being reserve, on min pay, no OT, in SJU minus the crashpad and the incidentals like 3-6 margarita a day :-) .... yeah... screw that!

First time furloughee here so bear with me. Let's say they recall me and I'm on mil leave but take the recall and remain on mil leave. I decide to come back say a month or so later. Will they put me through a recurrent class by myself assuming they weren't planning on running one soon or would I have to wait until they decided to run one when the class is full? If I come off mil leave but they say the next recurrent class isn't for a few months do I get paid to do nothing? Thanks for the help!

I cannot tell you for sure but I'm thinking that they will not put you through by yourself.

There are a few "company guys" that post on here... maybe they will chime in if they aren't to busy on the Spiritpilot board???? If not, that 1-900number they set up will probably be able to help you out;)
