Yes, but I think SWA will be hiring again next year. Do SWA's junior bases work better for you? Why did you apply to them if you weren't sure you wanted to work there? Or did you apply the same time as Continental but didn't get interviewed until now? If you had both offers back then, which one would you have taken?
Personally, SWA would be a no brainer for me but you have to take into account bases and where you want to live. SWA is much more stable right now but you will always fly 737s in the US. |
Well, there's plenty of us who would LUV another chance to interview at SWA. You must be doing something right........................

So even when they stop making the 737, will still only fly them? You can also guarantee that in the future, we will never go international? Maybe you shouldn't use the word always.
CAL doesn't have to alter its business model to fly international. Seems like a reasonable statement to me. :) |
OK, Do you guys even read the post. I never said there was anything wrong with the statement, just the use of the word always. I have really no idea what is going on at CAL, but you seem to know what is going on with SWA's business model, so tell us, so we can all know.
I just have a problem when someone ask a question and they get misinformed or bad info. SWA only flys 737 in the US. WOW I did not know that! |

For the most part true, but Harlingen, TX might as well be in another country..:D |
After over 20 years here at CAL I can safely say GO!
Our next contract is going to suck, (if we keep the current set of softball negotiators we currently are using), and management is doing as they please with no repercussions from the Union. Our management is a bunch of bean counters who will furlough unnecessarily just to make a point. Our Union caves and doesn't respond to anything management does to the Pilot group and is an embarrassment. SWA beats us in every category but one, International flying. If you've got your heart set on hanging out in Europe, than stay. If your like me and would rather be treated with dignity and get paid properly SWA wins hands down. To their credit, our management is just feeding off of a very fractured and sympathetic Pilot group, but that won't be changing for decades so hasta la vista and enjoy Southwest. |

Be ready to commute to OAK or LAS for a long time. OAK commuter hotels are crack houses. |
