An excellent idea. I've always thought doing away with longevity pay in contracts was a good idea, but a national longevity list might be better. A national seniority list will never work because we're all too selfish, myself included.

IMO, nobody should be allowed to operate a route segment at below cost unless they can prove the difference is made up on connecting traffic. Save airline management and investors from themselves.

I will give you two quotes from the presidential candidates convention speeches:
"Now is the time to change our bankruptcy laws, so that your pensions are protected ahead of CEO bonuses."
"I fought tobacco companies and trial lawyers, drug companies and union bosses."
Obviously, one of them is pro-labor and one of them is anti-labor. I would tell which one said which, but I bet you already know.
I don't even want to get into what one of them said 8 years ago about airline pilot "greed and role in exacerbating gridlock in U.S. skies."

One of those guys wants to TAX all employer provided health care plans as well. Another hidden tax for the worker. Airline pilots, this means you.
If the moderators allow it, I welcome anyone to PM me to let me know why they would vote for such a man. If not, I'm sorry for suggesting it.
