What happens if Parker accepts the DOH list? What will West do (in addition to lawsuits)?

West can not sue fast enough than they are now. Bottom line, 175 West pilots are furloughed out of the of the 1622 active pilots. Over 10 percent of their active members. Parker does not seem concerned about this. The transition agreement states, separate operations until an agreement.

The West leisure market is losing a lot of money. Expect more furloughs on the west in the beginning of 2009. There is a minimum aircraft for the West in the transition agreement, if the company needs to go below that they will have to ask permission of the pilot union that legally represents them.

Thank you, Steve Forbes, for your tremendous financial insight. I'd be willing to bet EVERY leisure market is losing money, not just Phoenix. And yet...SWA runs a sizable hub out of Phoenix and now Las Vegas and they remain profitable. How DO they do it?

Hmmm. I guess our "representatives" are USAPA. I'm sure they will fight to protect West jobs as well as enforcing the West's fleet minimum with guns blazing...or maybe they will trade it all away for a more DOH-centric seniortity system. Hard to say. What do YOU think they will do?

I seem to remember that Domestic Ops on both sides of the Mississippi are being reeled in. Before you respond to that, everybody is well aware that your airline was purchased because you East guys have those money making, wide-body European flights that everyone is convinced the West pilots want to try to get their greedy mitts on. Sleep soundly, USAPA will protect the East pilot's interests from the BAD West Pilots as well as the company.

On a personal level I'm in green pastures, on a career level I'm sitting in the manure pit. AWA was a great place to work until the merger happened. I miss Montana, it was a good place with good people. Where were you based? I'll work on building up the posts. Take care.

The avatar was mildly amusing...without a dog in that fight, wondering why "binding arbitration" was non-binding...

Best I can tell it is because one group did not like the outcome.
