Sun Country files Chapter 11

Sun Country Airlines

SUN COUNTRY AIRLINES BANKRUPTCY FILING – October 6, 2008
Today, Petters Aviation, LLC and its subsidiaries, including MN Airlines, LLC, d.b.a. Sun Country Airlines filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.
The decision to file for bankruptcy was based upon the adverse effects from recent events at Petters Group Worldwide Inc. This move affords us protection while we reorganize the business to be successful.
Sun Country will continue to operate business as usual. We will continue to fly our normal schedule. We will continue to operate under the same guidelines with regards to ticketing, refunds, changes and all other transactions.
We want to be clear that Sun Country customers have nothing to worry about if they have purchased a ticket on the airline. We are meeting our financial obligations and have every confidence we will continue to fly. Our credit card bank retains the funds until the passengers fly and would refund those funds if for some reason any flights were cancelled.
The management and employees feel very confident about the future of our great airline.

Copycats

Sum Country just copies everything NWA does. Next, they'll want to merge with Frontier.

Sun country files for chp.11, and Southwest just announced they're starting MPS service. Not good, not good at all.

Mail fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice... NICE.

They were raising money from investors by claiming they were buying electronics and selling them to Sam's Club and Costco, when in fact they were just stuffing the cash into other business, one of them was Sun Country. Even worse a few of the companies he was "buying" these electronics from never even existed. They also listed their office address as a building that is a wear house and a paint store that they don't own.

Wow, there's quite a lynch mob forming here.

The guy is innocent until proven guilty...remember that from your civics class?

The government has been known to go on witch hunts and fishing expeditions before.

Any news on the Sun Country situation. I had read that something was supposed to happen today?
