Thanks Pete,

I'll take that as a compliment!

I don't think it will ever happen. Too much downside for the gain!

tell your friend not to count his numbers just yet. i highly doubt any integration with ua would be date of hire. we would, however, be happy to staple them to the bottom of our list just like they would plan to do to us.

Gentlemen, ALPA merger policy states: A. preserve jobs B. No windfalls C. Maintain same or better pay D. Maintain same or better status E. Preserve career expectations. No mention of "date of hire" anywhere in the policy. Secondly, UAL's junior captain was hired in 5/97.

Default Current Seniority at Continental-Based EWR

Does anyone know the current seniority (DOH) (Junior Captain) for EWR-based Continental Captains on the following: 737 & 757/767?

It's called relative senority. Ask your Delta/Northwest friends how it works.

Date of hire will have nothing to do with senority should a merger occur.

Exactly. You want to see how an ALPA-ALPA merger will work in the future? Go take a look at the DAL/NWA SLI.
