Default CAL Pilots Help Out Your Furloughed Brothers and Sisters this Holiday Season

From CAL FORUMS. Within 24 hours we have raised enough for a $25 Visa Check Card for all 147 of our furloughed brothers and sisters we are attempting to at least double that number. Please help.

"HELP-A-PILOT Needs Secret Santas
HELP-A-PILOT Needs Secret Santas!

Times are tough. The economy is in a downward spiral. For those on furlough, this Christmas may be lean. In an effort to ensure that each of our furloughed pilots have at least enough to provide a Christmas dinner, we are starting a fund drive. Our goal is to raise enough to present every furloughed pilot with a $25 Visa Check Card to pay for their family’s Christmas dinner (or gifts for their kids. There’s nothing worse than a Christmas morning without a visit from Santa!) And, you can rest assured that if we raise even one dollar more, every penny will be equally divided amongst the 147. Please help support Kari Degurse’s great idea and pet project to show our furloughed pilots and their families that they are not forgotten. Please give what you can. If we can get $12.50 from 300 pilots we will have met our goal. Anything else would be very generous. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all….

Donations can be made to PAYPAL AT: www.paypal.com then enter: [email protected]

Donations can also be made at any Chartway Credit Union, Account Number: 98884880 Thank you for your consideration. Also, thanks to Mark Benton for approving this fund drive. If you are a furloughee mentor, please let us know if your family is in extra-special need. We have one of the most generous pilot groups out there. We’ll figure out something!

Fraternally, Sherry Q. "

I sure hope you don't have an issue getting $12.50 from 300 guys. That's just shameful if not.

Nope hasn't been any problem at all. Just want to get the word out to as many of our pilots as possible. Not every one of our pilots are on CAL FORUMS only about a third.

By the way last Spring on CAL FORUMS we raised over 15K for a special handicaped van for one of our Captains who came down with a very debilitating decease. Several years ago we raised over 15K for one of our Captains who the company attempted to take as a hostage for kicking out one of our managers out of Business First for a crew rest seat.

Update

Raised over $5600 in two days not attempting to raise $14,700 so each furloughed pilot receives a $100.00 gift card.

It's a great idea to have the donation for those furloughed. I hope every person over 60 has donated? Not trying to be mean but they won this incredible lottery on December 13, 2007 so maybe they could share a little extra with those who're now furloughed? I really hope 100% of those over 60 donated...

That is outstanding the CAL pilots are doing that, it isnt much but it helps and it sends a strong signal of brotherhood to those on the street. Kudos. I am furloughed from AMR and I have never even gotten a reacharound from APA in almost 7 years.
