Yeah you don't want to use words like "won". You guys put this behind you and fight the real enemy, the company.

Excellent advice!

Good idea! Yes! Fight the "enemy" to the last! Destroy the "enemy" from within! Go! Fight! Win!

I'll check in later to the "Hey! Why is the new Delta going out of business???" thread .

That will make the competition that much stronger.

Work to make the company strong. That's the only real choice. Yes, making the company strong will also make the CEO very rich. But it will also secure jobs and increase pay for everyone.

The CEOs get rich regardless if the company is profitable or not.

Fight to make it a great place to work! That doesn't have to put a company out of business.

Exactly my point. Many people are blinded by anger at their management (often justifiable anger, mind you) and erroneously think they will somehow "get even" with the company/management by doing things that hurt the company.

In fact, they do often hurt the "enemy"/company, but end up predominately only hurting themselves. Like you said, the CEO will most likely get tons of money no matter what.

Was it as painful as they say? My uncle passed a kidney stone once too and he said it hurt bad. Glad to hear it's out now. Go get your rest.

I just hope this doesn't turn into the same competitive infighting that we saw with AWA/USAirways. Just remember that the pilots from "the other side" are your brethren. Best of luck to all. Some of us would love to join you someday.

I don't think it will. Seems to me that we're all taking a very "big boy" approach to it all. The guys I'm flying with these days are all cautiously optimistic. We see where we can go. Mergers are never fun...but I, for one, understand this is where our industry is going. Better to have a team you can excel with than one you can't. I think the DAL-NWA marriage is about as good as it can get.
