They're talking now about possible brake failure after a high speed abort. Too early to tell of course but the possibility reminds me of one of my biggest fears. That is that something happens, I do every thing correctly only to be let down by the failure of another system.
Have you ever wondered if you really can clear those obstacles after engine failure at max weight? In this industry you really have to have faith in the system because there are so many things that can go wrong that you have no control over. |

From NBC Nightly News. Watch the video graphic. It would appear that NBC thought the 737 was taking off on a parallel taxiway. Notice runway markings to left. Or maybe this was after they left the runway. Of this, I seriously doubt, but it was viewed by MILLIONS.

For the record, most of the taxiways on 34R in DEN would be to the right and the aircraft departed to the left. Glad to know everyone got out safely.

Hell, there is not one airplane that would still be on the ground at 220mph. Not even close.
Congratulations to all the crew involved on getting everyone out alive and unharmed. Regards Bellerophon |
Flew a DEN turn today and had the Captain's wife on board. He was seriously injured and still recovering. Let's keep him and his family in our thoughts this holiday.
Everything else I heard is still speculation. We have enough to worry about from the media geniuses. |
I will say the crew did an outstanding job with the evacuation, including some non-rev pilots.
