SWA info plz
What makes SWA so great? I realize that they are the highest paid on the 737. But do they have great benefits, great retirements, good schedules? You guys out there know way more then I do, I am hoping you can give me an inside on why anyone would kill to fly for SWA (not trying to put down SWA).
Any info will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Several reasons I can think of is that they have built a niche and they stay in it.
They recognize the value of motivated employees and treat them with respect, not as if they are all "widgets".
They seems to make their employees feel as if they really make a difference.
There's not any of this "You just fly your airplanes, and we'll manage the company" attitude.
Long ago they recognized that an airplane doesn't make any money sitting at the gate, so their daily utilization rate is high.
Their management is focused on their mission.
They do what they do very, very well.
And on and on ........
I'd love to see SWA guys chime in.

I recently completed the HPA course. Something like $7300 gets you a nice looking hat. Their ground school is ALL 737-200. For the simulator training you can request either -200 or -300... there is no NG stuff at all.

You just answered your question. They have the highest pay. And their operation motto is "the employee comes first, instead of the customer". that says a lot about the company. Honestly, if I was looking for a job at the majors, Southwest would be my last choice. I don't think I could handle all the happy cheerfull and gay Southwest culture. Just my opinion.

Work for Southwest for three reasons, not necessarily in this order:
1: Enjoyable work environment
2: Solid pay and benefits
3: The hot chicks
You will work your tail off in order to get the above three

When you graduate and get some flight time come fly freight (if you can adjust your clock). It's the future of "good" jobs in aviation.
