Recent CAL Classes
Hey all, I posted this on that "other" message board also. Does anyone have a breakdown of the most recent classes at CAL for equipment and base? I have seen on here before and I know there have been classes starting every Tuesday this month and I am in the May 2nd class. Just curious.

Cheers Most 737 pilots can get advanced to IAH within 3 to 5 months and a bit longer to CLE. I have not seen anyone go to GUM in quite a while. |

Seniority in your class goes by age with the oldest being more senior. I would suggest that you bid the 737 as you will have a better quality of life. You can always bid up to a larger aircraft but you will have to wait 2 years to bid down to a smaller one.

I am in the Apr 18th class that started last tuesday.
All got 737 EWR, the pay is the same the first year no matter what aircraft you are on. The pay is 29.97 with a 76 hour guarentee. Almost everybody gets assigned EWR initally but they get the chance to bid IAH before they leave training...whether that happens to my class remains to be seen. If you want IAH get on the 737, 756 is pretty senior down there. The word is that GUAM is staffed and nobody is getting it even if they want it. I think when they started hiring / recalling a lot of guys went out there and took the 18moth commitment, so the first guys are just now in the next few months going to have the chance to leave if they so desire, I think its only like 60 crews out there. If anyone is interested the break down is.... 4-XJT 3-EX-Fly I 1-Navy 1-Pinnacle 1-ATA 1-ASA 1-GoJet |
Excellent, that is what I was looking for. When tomorrow's class starts if you could snoop around and find out what their break down is that'll be great.

not cool...I'm sure they are posting that on the go jet website as a way to attract more scabs. |

There was no strike, just a new company... yes it was a scumbag move my management and probably a questionable employment decision by the people that went over there to fly... That being said... The ex-GJ pilot is a very nice guy that knows his craft. It is not easy to get hired by CAL right now. Going to GJ is probably not a career decision that I would have made but he did, and honestly it worked for him being that he is in ground school at CAL. It kinda discredits any one who was spouting off at going to Go-Jet being career suicide.. wrong-o. |
Go Jets is going to be like the steroid era in baseball. yeah, they all hit 60 home runs a year, BUT....they had to cheat others to get there.
Don't like them, don't respect them, I don't have a dog in the fight (I'm not TSA) but hey, that's the burden I bear. I did fly with a guy who left my work place to go there and he was a complete *******. Mookie |
He must have realized the mistake he was making. Couldn't have been there too long.
