Spirit FA's refuse to wear Bud aprons
I thought this was interesting article that showed up in the local paper.
Sounds like the FA's are trying to draw a line in the sand against the company's plan to increase ad revenue. |
ok, so where's the article?
It's in the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinal.
Sun-Sentinel Sprit F/A article:
Just wait til they have all the flight attendants dress up as Hooters waitresses.....
I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it if Bud was still an American brand.
I like the idea.
How low can the industry go:rolleyes:
Frankly, most flight attendants (and not a few pilots . . . ahem!) should be less worried about uniform changes and more concerned that they'll have to step onto a scale every 6 months to conform to "normal" weight standards.
This would do far more to enhance the product image to the flying public than some advertising everyone will just block out anyway. |

I think they are making way to big a deal about this...they are tastefully done and bring a steady stream of revenue into the company. We have way more important things to complain about at Spirit.
If this keeps up, the FAs are going to look like Nascar cars with all the logos plastered on them.
Maybe we can all get those leather jackets with a big "24" or "33" on the back and all the logos too. "Sure we'll give you a 10% paid raise - just wear these jackets!". |

I am not blasting you just pointing out the problem and why the flight attendants would be upset. I am with you we could all loose a couple of pounds. There are so many good choices available at the airport. Throughout my 13 hour day and 40 minute turns you'd think I should be able to find one. |

What next a pilot with a Bud light logo on his shirt and beer bottles instead of stripes on his epaulets…just imagine what the passengers would think ahahahah

I agree with the Spirit F/A's. What a crock! What's next? A minimum of 15 pieces of flare?

Hey Slim I think you are missing the point here. They are selling the apron space.

The ultimate goal is to raise money for the airline: I think enhancing one's product value is a better strategy than selling billboard space on a flight attendant apron. This is really a "tempest in a teapot", as the saying goes. Flight attendants already hawk credit cards non-stop ("Sky miles"), sell overpriced candy, distribute napkins with company logos, etc. Any airplane with a tv screens in the cabin show advertisements between shows, some planes have advertisements on the tray tables. Heck, half the passengers are walking billboards for "Nike", "Pink", sports teams, etc. I just don't see what the fuss is about. An apron with advertising that everyone is just going to ignore anyway? I'm more amazed that a company would pay for the privilege. |
The company certainly is not paying for the privilege??? Budweiser will be. That's what advertising is LoL
I prefer the company using everything as billboards, instead of fighting to lower our wages. We better try to get a cut from this new idea.

They did try to lower our wages with their idea of a crap contract they offered us last week. Though I'm sure they were just playing the game since we are still stalled in neogatations.
