LAX crash pads
Hey Everyone new to the site got a quick question. With multiple pilots and many airlines based out of LAX does anyone have some info on a decent crash pad.
I googled LAX crash pads and got a bit of info but nothing really. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.. |
crashpads.com is a good website for crash pads
I think there was a thread started not too long ago about a crash pad opening up in LA in a few months...can't seem to find it, may have been another site |
Between 7 different domiciles, LAX was the one that was the hardest to find a crashpad in. They are also expensive, as far as crashpads go.
If you can find something by The Hacienda Hotel in El Segundo, that is a very good location. Maybe it's changed, but you can take their van back and forth to the airport and don't need a car. There is a grocery store right there, multiple restaurants, a short walk to downtown El Segundo, and easy transportation to Manhattan/Hermosa Beach. Also, it seemed due to the cost in the area, "hot bed" crash pads were more abundant than other places I've been. |
There are a couple around the Hacienda. Many shut down after Expressjet closed their LA base and the ones left are pretty full. Expect to pay at least $250 a month for a good one. Look at crewcommute.com (free) and crashpads.com($) and start calling.

There may be some opening up in March because some pilots got displaced out of LAX.
Make a craigslist ad, or search craigslist. Good luck ! |
Almost all of the DAL guys stay at the Hacienda in El Segundo. Old hotel but really nice staff and very convenient to LAX, grocery store and good eats.
