That's exactly the problem - the guys flying the 747s can't see this (or now they can!). They think this outsourcing won't touch them. Meanwhile, the guys flying the smaller lift at mainline have slowly seen their routes reduced while regionals (where I'm at) see their routes increased and lengthened, adding seats (and for that matter, jets). Regional is a commuter. It should be used on short segments..... if at all.

I emailed my reps and told them we dont need people leading our MEC and the largest pilot group in the world if they feel its ok to continue to outsource OUR jobs. If any one of our elected reps dont feel its important to represent the entire pilot group then they should be recalled. If moak is acting alone and making decisions about our pilot group without incorporating the rest of our reps then he should be recalled immediately.

Perhaps there is something that comes out of a conversation like this. Maybe he's right - what do the widebody pilots care? Why is ALPA aligned as LECs/MECs that represent each base and the whole. What if, to best represent each pilot group at an ALPA carrier, they had a local council for an airframe or "# of seats lifted". That way, the guys that are getting the shaft have a clear unified voice, rather than being at some low level in Los Angeles, for example....

I stand by my idea. Change the LECs into aircraft or seat # specific units. There may be more of them - but perhaps its time to have more representation at the meetings for each pilot represented.
And.... you can't integrate regionals. Staple is the only fair solution. Why? Because, I was hired October 2007 at my regional. I had the qualifications to work AT a regional. Why should I leapfrog a guy hired in January 2008 at a major, who had the qualifications to go to a major? I shouldn't! I would be lucky enough to be making the list with a different amount of experience.

There are multiple WB pilots that are furious about this. It's the fact that Moak acted ALONE! He outsourced MORE flying, and gave the green light on this POS LOA without consulting ANYONE. He has NO place in our MEC.

No, his agenda is different.
The RJDC told their members that SLI would go by paycheck, or equipment type which would result in a staple. Their one SLI presentation had ASA and Comair joining by DOH, then stapled on the bottom of the Delta list.
Guess who made a presentation to Collective Bargaining Committee in October 2008? They presented the following risks factors which face us:
I'm not an RJDC Lover, in fact I wish there was no need for their existence, but I'm not so proud as to exclude good ideas just because of their source. To make progress we must stop relying on anecdotal stories and start analyzing objective facts. How did Dave Behncke and others form this union and establish the first scope? What worked before? What changed?

- Left over bargaining
- Scope used as bargaining capital
