Default Keep DFW Strong, consumers weak

DFW has come up with a response to Southwest's www.setlovefree.com at http://www.keepdfwstrong.com/. Keep the government involved in the marketplace; competition and consumer benefit be damned!

Default Set DFW Free

Plenty of empty gates available in the D concourse.

Come on over. AA already matches SWA fares.

Whats the holdup?

Default Set DFW FREE

When the Wright admendment was written, All airlines signed the letter and moved to DFW.
That is everybody but ONE Airline ........ Southwest

Now 30 years or so later SWA is crying the "it isn't fair" game.
If SWA wants to fly long haul have them move to DFW

LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DID 30 YEARS AGO.

The law was written to utilize DFW.
Why should everyone else move back to Love just to make SWA happy.

My main complaint is that SWA wants their cake (see Love field) and to eat
it to (see money....greed)

If SWA wants to serve the country out of Dallas simply move in to DFW
slap up a few signs, buy a few gates and bring over a few 737's.

It does not sound too complicated to me!

Maybe flying between the Metroplex and Houston/Austin/New Orleans, but not outside the 5 state area. If SWA tomorrow began flying LUV to DEN, what are the odds that the average airfare paid on that route would decline? Count on it.

Moving to DFW would entail more costs and higher fees for Southwest than staying put in LUV.

Whose stance is better for the Metroplex traveling public?

Air fares would come down in the new markets SWA would serve, benefiting everyone except AMR.

Not that AMR management cares. They want the government to keep its hand in the market, preventing free and open competition.

Default True facts

The only bonus for NO More Wright Amendment
IS FATTER PROFITS FOR SWA.
I know it and and so do you!
AsI stated before plenty of available gates available at DFW
In fact I heard that they offer free rent for the first year!

Why have EVERYBODY ELSE move back to Love Just so SWA can line their pockets some more.

Plenty more room at the DFW.......... ASK ANY DELTA EMPLOYEE.

YOU SAID "WHOSE STANCE IS BETTER FOR THE METROPLEX TRAVELING PUBLIC?

Since when does any business "care what the traveling public wants:

The airlines just want to sell seats AA and SWA both are the same.

The law is the law.
If SWA REALLY WANTED TO FLY MORE THAN 5 STATE REGION.........
They would pack up and move!.
They just want to skirt the law and make a quick buck.

Really Ticks me off that all the other airlines agreed to the Wright law but SWA
And now they have the clout and money to cry "IT AIN'T FAIR NO MORE'

Well Boo Hoo
Move over and compete or stifle yourself.

Like the old saying goes........
'PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

Default Wright stuff....

SWA has no argument for expanding out of Love field. First, the people living near there hate the noise (private jets are loud enough as it is). And secondly,DFW was created with the agreement of all but SWA to support it. It takes a ton of money not only to maintain, but to improve airports. DFW will continue to expand over the decades and if SWA wants the right to fly to all points out of the metroplex, then let them contribute to the support of the airport that was made for them to do just that. One word comes to mind when it comes to SWA and the Wright Amendment - crybabies! Sorry, no sympathy for their plight.

I don't think anyone is even proposing this.

If SWA wants to serve the country out of Dallas simply move in to DFW slap up a few signs, buy a few gates and bring over a few 737's.
Why? So we can get slapped with flow and gate holds during your big banks?

We left IAH for HOU for a reason. We left SFO for OAK for a reason. Why would we move one of our biggest operations to another delay-prone, hub-dominated airport just to comply with an antiquated law?

Lets say for the sake of argument that we did pack up and move 14 miles away. We would then be able to fly anywhere we wanted, JUST LIKE WE WOULD IF WE STAYED PUT AND LIFTED THE W.A. So what would be the difference? Would having us in your hair make you feel better? I'm really NOT trying to be a wise-ass, I just don't get what difference it makes.

We didn't sign the W.A. for a reason; It didn't make sense then, and it makes even less sense now. Large metropolitan cities all over the country exist with many airports serving them for the betterment of all who travel. You guys (AA), put out a very nice product. Why don't we lift these arcane restrictions and let the traveling public choose which of our business models best suits their needs?
