Default NWA Pilots

I am working on an statistical work about pilots on furlough at different airlines and need some information about pilots at Northwest Airlines.

-What is the month/year of hire of last pilot on furlough (how junior/senior)?

-How far as date of hire will the next round of pilots to be furlough by this coming spring will go?

Thanks in advance.

Mdpilot.

Default No More Furloughs

The Company announced that there will be no more furloughs this year, and Recalls are expected to begin in December at the rate of about 10/month. Of course this could all change and never bank on this kind of information.

There are quite a few pilots nearing 60 and FO's near the current bottom, that have left early to fly at emmerates.

I Had friends hired in Aug and sept 2001 and were furloughed after OE. The ALPA contract does not specfically protect pilots on Probation, but the union will likely demand their recall. Many however, resigned their numbers to go back to old jobs or new ones.

There are about 700 pilots remaining on furlough, with the bottom of the senority hired in late '98

They have said nothing past recalls in 2007. Where do you get this from?

There are quite a few pilots nearing 60 and FO's near the current bottom, that have left early to fly at Emirates.
There have been apx. 40 resignations, to work for all sorts of people, including Emirates. There are also 24 pilots on voluntary furlough. 50 plus on military leave.

Probationary pilots are fully covered by the contract and shall be recalled in seniority order. The only protections you do not have on probation are under the discipline and discharge section of the contract.

Many however, resigned their numbers to go back to old jobs or new ones.
See above. Last time there was about a 30% bypass rate on recalls. Expect more this time initially, however as they get to the end of the list and either have to come back or give up their recall rights expect most to eventually return.

HA!

Another "ground instructor" that thinks they know more than they do! I love those guys. It is what keeps me smiling in RGS.

Thanks for setting the record straight.
