I'm sorry, but what happened sucked, but how the heck can you honestly say it would have worked that you had 20 year guys sitting shotgun to a 7 year captain? Really guys, get over it. Keep the fences, and work towards both getting a better contract.

That is completely not true. America West had been profitable and the cash balance was over 1 billion dollars. Read the SEC filing documents, although, given your statements, you evidently ignore all but your own prejudged opinions.

I think that the name is brilliant. If their stand didn't count for anything, nobody would remember it thousands of years later.

That is why I chose my avatar. The unknown rebel in Tienamen Square could have been easily overrun by the Chinese T62 variants, but stood his ground anyway armed only with a shopping bag. If only all pilots, including me, could be this brave...

Good luck to you all..........

Don't you think their cause was a little more heroic than yours? I mean come on, you guys are fighting about seniority in a court of law. Not fighting your enemy to the death on a battlefield. That part doesn't come until you have to fly together. :o :D

That day is coming sooner than you think.

You are lost in the clouds if you think this is a simple fight for seniority.

It's not my fight, so if you want, tell me what it's about. (I saw your objectives and still doubt any of this would be going on if there was more acceptance of the seniority list.)

Speaking of clouds, is that where you got the idea of using the name Leonidas from?

Whatever it is, it's not quite that serious.

Good luck to both sides, I hope you work something out.

The sec filings show a cash balance for America West, at the time of merger, less than the the amount of the ATSB 429 million loan they received from the government.

What's to work out?

Seniority list completed and presented to company and accepted by company.

Duty to fairly represent all under the union umbrella required by federal law.

The judge just has to flip the switch of justice to make the low life's hold up there side of the deal. April 28th the smack down begins for 8 days.

Cactus,

Like I said, good luck with that. Personally, I have no stake in the deal, but hate to see when two pilot groups don't get along. Especially, when those same two groups are destined to fly in the same cockpit together.

The whole "smack down" attitude will last until the last pilot retires and it is not fun. Your merger in particular looks like it will be worse than the Republic/NWA merger and if I were you I would be looking for a way to start getting along sooner rather than later.

One thing seems for sure is that no matter who "wins" on the 28th, both sides will be losers. Good luck with the "low lifes" because all of you will be wearing the same uniform and I won't be able to tell the two of you apart. :(

Interesting you call US Airways pilots low life's. For years America West pilots were the ball and chain at the feet of airline pilots for wage increases. America West pilots happily worked for less wages by far compared to other pilots. Click below for an interesting wage chart.

I am wondering why America West pilots worked for so long with those sub standard wages. Would you share with everyone your strategy?
