Alaska Airlines and Swine Flu

This is from the local TV station, KING5, about Alaska disinfecting its planes with hospital grade sanitizer in an effort to kill off this virus.

There are a couple of sentences on Biden's unfortunate remarks, but please do not make any more politically oriented posts. Don't make me close my own thread! ;)

And now I am going to immunize myself by eating a big pork chop.

I noticed SEA has a TV station with call letters KING and KONG.

AS is smart to do that; they fly many trips to Mexico from US. Very smart.

Yet this "swine" flu is more mild than the regular seasonal flu, and according to CNN 36,000 people die every year in the USA alone from the regular seasonal flu....

Well, you have the media over-hyping of the whole thing to thank for the "drastic" action taken by the airlines.

There always has to be something dramatic for the media types to trip all over themselves about

Flight diverted

Didn't want to start a 15th thread on this dang swine flu, but here is an article about UA 903 getting diverted to Boston after a woman complained of flu-like symptoms. Why bother going to Boston when DC is not too far away? Does this mean everyone on the plane is going to be quarantined or inoculated? Did the woman have swine flu or just regular flu? Did she feel ill before she boarded in Munich? So many questions!

As a reasonable person, I say if you feel kinda sick, stay at home. If you feel ok, go to work or do what you normally do anyway. This is just common horse sense.

100% right, if you're sick---STAY HOME! This goes for not just going to work or travelling, but for your sick kids going to school as well. Use common sense! Otherwise, this flu spreads all over.

Was in the Alaska Board-room this morning in ANC and it was all Biden, over and over and over again on all the TV's...scaring the you-know-what out of all their first-class passengers LoL. They've also 86'd all pillows and blankets from their aircraft for the time being. BTW, anybody here flew 130 to ORD this morning?
