Alpa @ AirTran
I have been told by an AirTran crewmember that AirTran management has threatened them with swift and sure discipline if they wear an Alpa lanyard.
Any sea lawyers have an opinion on the legality of that position? |

Any sea lawyers have an opinion on the legality of that position? IF they've been consistent in applying that standard. If they target one group for wearing a lanyard (i.e. ALPA) and permit NPA or other non-company lanyards, it should be a slam-dunk grievance win. |
maybe they should be worrying about other things than ALPA lanyards....

It not really the lanyard. It is enforcing managements reign of terror.

I think the incident in which the FO got fired for wearing his uniform to a circus to drop off his family was absurd at best, and if the geniuses in MCO continue in this trend, they may find themselves even alienates those "moderate" pilots who used to just fly their trip and go home, to being more vocal in future matters regarding their contracts.

The F/O didnt get fired. He was given a week off. The now defunct NPA had a flight pay loss program. When the company takes political action against you your fellow pilots pay you for your trip. Great company, huh?
