Losers continue to come out of the closet!
Hey CAL management:
You can be profitable and ethical at the same time, no kidding. I know it's difficult for you losers to grasp but remember when Gordon said it's all about the employees? Well, here is your chance to show you learned from the guy who saved this company. Try not to be like the Lorenzo types - oh I forgot, you are the Lorenzo type!

Let's give the NAVY credit for this one....he was a Blue Angel. I think this is a problem from these guys being too far removed from "reality". It's always easy to make decisions for someone when you're not in their shoes. Kudos to the pilots, shame on management. Wonder what their reply would have been had the crew flown the trip, been detained, and CAL had to DH a crew to pick up the plane? Too bad that didn't happen, as it might have resulted in a management shakeup................

To have pilots put in this position to begin with to "pit it out" with mgt pilots as they had to is far from acceptable when looking at the entire scenario.
Just to be clear, this is coming from the same mgt office that went ahead and told the EWR pilots a few winters back during snowy conditions at the airport and the winter Ops deicing program was in affect (very close, but paraphrased) "The snow storm is not 'that bad'. When I drove to work this morning, the snow just blew off my car"....are you kidding me?!?!
Looking at your evaluation of EWR's mgt office being "too far removed from reality" is far too kind....please pass the Rose Colored Glasses when your done.
Trying to find the positive side when all is said and done, this at least stokes the MEC, the LEC's, and pilot group as a whole during this pivotal time of negociations and unity......thanks "Stank & Company".

First off, I am NOT giving management a "pass" as you seem to think. I find this kind of action against the CA (who is a friend of mine), pathetic. As far as the "snowstorm" bit, it was a statement taken out of context. I spoke with the CP who made this statement. What he was referring to is the "herd" mentality, ie., when one guys de-ices, everyone does, regardless of whether they need to or not. An example of this was one evening while arriving into DCA. Seems DAL's mins were quite a bit higher than ours were, but EVERYONE decided to hold because "DAL had to be right to be holding", so everyone joined in. I told the CA I was flying with at the time that the visibility in DCA was well above what we needed, we proceeded to fly the approach, and EVERYONE joined in after us, except DAL, who ended up having to divert. THAT is what the "snowstorm" stuff was all about. Sure, it makes for good reading to think his statement was out of line, but what he said was in fact correct, just not made to seem that way.
To just stand there and take the road....."well, they are just 'out of touch' b/c they are removed from the line and in the office".....that is probably the most head in the sand C.S. comment I've heard all week!! The pilots who are in the CP's office were inviewed and chosen for their leadership skills, forward thinking, and decision making actions for the line operations in a LEGACY AIRLINE, no??.
Who knows, maybe we're giving them too much credit.
Off my soap box....
