PARIS AIR SHOW: Game On for Bombardier

Paris Airshow time....

Nobody's ordering so far, except for regionals that have the scope to use this airplane as a Avro 146 replacement. The majors are not investing much interest yet. My guess is, no one is sure where this is going.

What's amazing is, that if that scope was given up, the airlines would order hundreds of these things. However, they won't operate them at mainline for a only about $50 more dollars per hour. SAD...

Depends on whether management figures out that ALPA will not cave in.

I understand the confusion. I can't figure out if ALPA will outsource these. They always say no, but that's not what they do.

He says negotiations with Lufthansa on productivity improvements and a wage freeze are well advanced, but that details remain to be clarified. The current Lufthansa wage agreement includes Lufthansa mainline, regional subsidiary CityLine and leisure carrier Condor Flugdienst. VC wants to include low-fare unit Germanwings in a new agreement. If Lufthansa relinquishes routes to Germanwings--as has already happened in some cases--VC wants Lufthansa pilots to fly the aircraft--albeit at Germanwings rates. Germanwings is a fully owned subsidiary of Eurowings AG in which Lufthansa holds 49%.

Apparently they have their own problems with outsourcing and things are really ugly there.

It will be a good mainline jet. I just wish that someone in the US would get behind it.

I would love to buy a bunch of those and start a new airline. Not an LLC or anything but, a green airline. Just gotta figure out a way to get those engines off the pesky expensive oil.... You could make a fortune.

Uh, let me think, I remember something about million dollar bonuses for AIG folks. Today almost anyone can bankrupt a company and walk away with millions. Insurance, securities, real estate, automotive etc. are only a few of the industries providing prime rape and pillage opportunities, basically anything with a board of directors.
