Mainline pay for "regional" aircraft
Mainline pilots: What do you feel are appropriate pay rates for flight crew on today's "regional" fleet?
This is an honest question, not a "flame". Please give realistic answers, based on the post-deregualtion environment. Granted, I wish we could all be millionaires, but please keep in mind where narrow body pay is and has been. I would look at the question in the context of all jet aircraft being flown as part of one seamless mainline seniority list. I have listed aircraft currently being flown by regional airlines. While I have omitted turboprop aircraft, feel free to add to my list as you see fit. Thank you.
Please suggest 1st year, 5th year, and maximum pay for both CAPT and FO on:
CRJ 200 (up to 50 seats):
CRJ 700 (up to 76 seats):
CRJ 900 (up to 86 seats):
CRJ1000(up to 100 seats):
E135/140/145 (up to 50 seats):
E170 (up to 76 seats):
E175 (up to 86 seats):
E190 (up to 108 seats):

I think anything 51+ seats should pay what a DC-9 pays. I also think that anything over 50 seats should be flown at mainline.

I believe we should get paid as follows:
1) FOs should be paid $1 per hour per seat
- 50 seats = $50/hr
- 150 seats = $150/hr
- 500 seats = $500/hr
2) Captains should make 150% of what the FOs make
All of this should be with 60-70 hr guarantee and max flight time per month should not exceed 80hrs. This increases QOL, Safety, time at home, and reduces fatigue. Will it ever happen? No but we deserve at least $1/$1.50 per hour per passenger don't we?

The CMR contract 2001 was the closest thing to a mainline contract any regional has been. 50 seat Capt. pay was around $102/hour and 70 seat pay topped out at $117/hour as I recall. Sadly, after years of steady growth no regional came close to equaling that and the decimation of that contract to CMR guys is history. The regional guys had the power to get something during their boom period '00-'06 but no one came close to equaling or even getting close to CMR. I believe its down hill from here for RJ guys. The threat of reductions or cancellations of possible orders is to great for the current regional groups to overcome.

I do not see them taking cuts. But it appears that the RJ boom is done. There are some very big cuts coming to those jets.
It is all about CSAM these days. RJ's just do not make sense with all of the people flying.

I believe my experience is worth $500/hour.
Why ask mainline pilots what regional pilots are worth ?
Perhaps it's time for regional pilots to stand up for themselves, take control of their destiny and not promote subservience in their existance.

Unfortunately, they too have been furloughing and there has been a lot of pressure from QX management for pay cuts. So we will see how long this lasts.
