DAL M88B - ATL Reserve Schedule

Haven't done reserve for a few months, and was wondering what the schedule has been like for an MD-88 F/O in ATL. Back in Mar & Apr it was either fly every day or pull short call. With the category staffing getting to where it should be has the pace slowed at all?

They are adding time to it, so I would assume it would be about the same.

I guess I have my answer; MD-88 F/Os must be flying so much they have time to visit this forum.

Up until this month, there seemed to be more trips in open time than bodies on reserve, on a daily basis. This month there seems to be more than enough coverage. At this point I've usually flown 50 hours or so (with yellow slips), and am looking forward to an 80-85 hour month. This month it appears I won't break guarantee. I can't get a trip, and want to fly! I'm on my second long call day home in a row, very rare for me.

Looking ahead to August, the coverage seems a little thinner (?). Not as many blue days.

Coverage was decent in July - only the weekends were under min coverage for the most part. Still flying a decent amount - I've been averaging about 50 hours of flying, with 2-4 short calls during the last few months. Not good if you want to break garuntee, but I needed a break from flying every day and going up to ALV every month - which is what I was doing up until about April.

August does look a little thinner, particularly in the early going.

This sounds exactly like the SLC 88 situation as well. I flew 85 hours last month on reserve - this month I won't break 70. I too had a couple of long call days at home. Not so good for the pay check - but great for QOL :)

great for QOL ... unless you're a commuter and you get this for your last 6 days of reserve availability in the month:
one day short call (0400)
one day long call
one day short call (0430)
one day long call
one day short call (0430)

And no flying. And last night somebody stole my bicycle from outside my crashpad.:mad:

I believe the reason they started 0400 short calls for MD88B in SLC is so they have someone they can stick on the 6AM to ATL deadhead to cover if they run out of you guys out there.

I'm glad i'm not the only one that see this schedule this month... Hang in there, bro, we'll all be in DTW before the first snow fall:)

I am a SLC commuter and for my last 6 day stretch I was expecting to have a SC schedule much like you posted. I was surprised to instead get 0900 short call the first day (and was released early for my flight home) followed by two long call days and then a commutable three day trip. QOL certainly had a boost this month; only two nights in a SLC hotel - but I'm sure the reserve karma gods will catch up to me soon
